Patient Exam

General Exam

The Complete Examination of the eyes takes one to one and one-half hours. During the examination the eyes will be dilated to allow a more thorough and accurate examination. (Dilation may make your eyes more sensitive to bright light and blur your near vision temporarily and for that reason some patients prefer to bring sunglasses and/or have a friend or relative drive them home).

The examination includes refraction, eye alignment exam, glaucoma test, cornea and retinal exam. A contact lens fitting is not included but can be performed by one of our licensed opticians at your request for an additional fee.
